Some nice food but the ambiance and surroundings are not very pleasant. The Peking duck was delicious, as were the stir fried choy sum with garlic sauce. The crispy lamb was too salty and dry, with more batter than actual meat. The crispy squid was nice, but the dish was artificially made to look bigger with the addition of unnecessary garnish (such as onions). The restaurant location itself is a bit sad, set in a room reminiscent of an industrial storeroom.

If you’re in Wellington and craving some killer Guo Bao Rou, you’ve got to check this place out. The pork is super crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and smothered in a sweet, tangy sauce that really hits the spot. They top it off with fresh cilantro and spring onions for that extra pop of flavor.
The portions are huge, and the vibe is totally laid-back, so it’s a great spot for a casual bite. Honestly, if you’re into crispy, sweet and sour pork, this is the place to go in Wellington. Definitely worth a try!

Had an amazing meal at Mr. Ji’s! Tried the schezwan lamb, salt n pepper squid, spicy garlic eggplant, and the sizzling tofu - all of them were incredibly flavourful but the sizzling tofu was definitely a personal favourite! A must try for sure, and very reasonably priced for the portions! And our server Vicky was amazing, very helpful at recommending dishes 👏🏽

Very good food! This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten in New Zealand, and the service is meticulous.
